2006 Chevrolet Suburban K1500, 5.3 ZSECTION Installation Procedure

  1. Install the steering wheel to the steering column, observing the alignment marks.
  2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install a new steering wheel set nut.

    Tighten:Β  Tighten the nut to 41 N.m (30 lb ft).

  4. Remove J 42640Β  from the steering column. See Special Tools and EquipmentΒ .
  5. Connect the horn electrical connector.
  6. Install the steering wheel inflator module. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Replacement in SIR.
