2006 Chevrolet Suburban C2500, 6.0 USECTION Installation Procedure

  1. Install the positive battery cable to the vehicle as close to the original routing noted during removal.
  2. Install the positive battery cable to the battery.
  3. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
  4. Tighten the positive battery cable terminal nut (1).

    Tighten:Β  Tighten the nut to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).

  5. Close the positive battery cable cover until the two side retainers are engaged.
  6. Install the positive battery cable lead to the UBEC.

  8. Install the positive battery cable lead (2) to the UBEC stud.
  9. Install the positive battery cable lead to UBEC nut (1).

    Tighten:Β  Tighten the nut to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).

  11. Install the UBEC cover.
  12. Raise the vehicle.

  14. Route the positive battery cable in between the starter and the engine.
  15. Install the positive battery cable lead (1) to the starter motor.
  16. Install the positive battery cable to starter motor nut (4).

    Tighten:Β  Tighten the nut to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  17. Lower the vehicle.

  19. Install the battery hold down retainer (5).
  20. Install the battery hold down bracket nuts (1, 4).

    Tighten:Β  Tighten the nuts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  21. Install the wiring harness relay block bracket (2) and nut (3).

    Tighten:Β  Tighten the nut to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  23. Position the ECM bracket and install the ECM bracket (1) to the battery hold down bracket.

  25. Install the 36 volt positive battery cable retainer (4) to the ECM bracket.

  27. Position the engine wiring harness auxiliary BEC.
  28. Install the engine wiring harness auxiliary BEC to the wiring harness relay block bracket.
  29. Install the engine wiring harness retainer to the positive battery cable bracket.

  31. Install the positive battery cable lead (2) to the engine wring harness auxiliary BEC.
  32. Install the positive battery cable to the engine wiring harness auxiliary BEC stud nut (1).

    Tighten:Β  Tighten the nut to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).

  33. Close the positive battery cable cover on the engine wiring harness auxiliary BEC.
  34. Install the positive battery cable retainer to the positive battery cable bracket.
  35. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (2.2L (L61) and 3.5L (L66))Β  or Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (2.4L (LAT))Β .
