Shift Cable (Console Shift): Installation

2006 Chevrolet Suburban C2500, 6.0 USECTION Installation

  1. Install the shift cable through the cowl panel and seat the grommet. See Figure . Slide the shift cable (1) fully into the console until it snaps into place. See Figure . Connect the shift cable terminal to the shift lever pin.
  2. Install the console trim plate. See appropriate SHIFT INTERLOCK SYSTEMS article. Install the left console trim panel.
  3. Insert the shift cable into the bracket. See Figure . Connect the shift cable terminal to the transaxle manual shift lever pin.
  4. Insert the retainer to the shift cable mechanism. See Figure . Adjust the shift cable. See SHIFT CABLEΒ  under ADJUSTMENTS.
