2006 Chevrolet Suburban C2500, 6.0 USECTION Installation Procedure

  1. Position the inner boot clamp onto the steering gear boot (3).
  2. Apply grease to the steering linkage inner tie rod (1) and to the steering gear (5).
  3. Install the steering gear boot onto the steering linkage inner tie rod.
  4. Ensure the steering gear boot is not twisted, puckered, or improperly folded.
  5. Install the steering gear boot onto the steering gear. Seat the steering gear boot in the groove on the steering gear housing (4).
  6. Install the inner boot clamp to the steering gear boot.
  7. Install the outer boot clamp (2) to the steering gear boot.
  8. Install the steering linkage inner tie rod nut to the steering linkage inner tie rod.
  9. Install the steering linkage outer tie rod. Refer to Steering Linkage Outer Tie Rod ReplacementΒ .
