Discs Will Not Eject

2006 Chevrolet Suburban C2500, 6.0 USECTION Discs Will Not Eject
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2008 GMC Yukon XL, 2008 GMC Yukon, 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2008 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2008 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Attempt to remove the CDs/DVDs from the radio by pushing the "Eject" button on the radio. If there is a "chatter" noise, go to step two. If there is no chatter noise and the discs will not eject from the radio, send the radio to your authorized Electronic Service Center for repair.
  2. Dissconnect the negative battery cable from the vehicle. Wait a minute and reconnect the battery cable. The radio will eject any CD/DVD in the player upon battery reconnection.
  3. Remove the radio from the Instrument Panel of the vehicle but do not remove the electrical connectors. Refer to Radio Replacement (Except Cadillac)Β  or Radio Replacement (Cadillac)Β .
  4. Some versions of these radios have a 9.5 mm x 13 mm oval hole on the top cover of the radio, near the back of the case. If the radio being serviced has this hole, proceed to step four. Otherwise the radio will need to be returned to your authorized Electronic Service Center for repair.
  5. Push the "Eject" button. While the discs are attempting to eject, insert a plastic pen cap, or similar plastic object into the hole to assist the top disc out of the radio.
  6. After the top disc is removed, push the "Eject" button again to remove the bottom disc.
  7. Check the operation of the radio to see if a CD or DVD can be inserted and then ejected. If a CD or DVD can be inserted and ejected from the radio, then reinstall the radio into the Instrument Panel. If a CD or DVD cannot be inserted and then ejected from the radio, send the radio to your authorized Electronic Service Center for repair.
