Check for the following conditions:

  • A loose KS can cause a loss of KS signal. Check KS for proper torque. Correct KS sensor torque is 29 ft. lbs (39 N.m).
  • Engine acceleration will be compromised and AT downshifts delayed when operating in FAIL-SAFE mode.
  • If DTC P0325 sets while engine is idling, check for a loose connection at PCM or KS.

An intermittent malfunction may be caused by a fault in the KS sensor electrical circuit. Check wiring harness and components for an intermittent condition. See INTERMITTENTS in TROUBLE SHOOTING - NO CODES - 1.8L VIBE article. Information included in freeze frame data can be useful in determining vehicle operating conditions present when DTC first set.
