2006 Chevrolet SSR AutomaticSECTION Removal Procedure
CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Cautions and Notices.
  1. Raise Vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect ProcedureΒ .

  4. Remove the right transmission cover bolt.

  6. Remove the starter bolts.
  7. Slide the starter forward until the starter clears the transmission.

  9. Remove the starter solenoid nut (3).
  10. Remove the starter lead (2) from the solenoid stud.
  11. Remove starter from vehicle through right wheel well opening.

  13. If necessary, remove the starter shield.
