Removal Procedure

2006 Chevrolet SSR AutomaticSECTION Removal Procedure
  1. Disable the SIR. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 2 and to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 6 in SIR.
  2. Remove the side front door trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - DoorΒ .
  3. Remove the front door speaker. Refer to Speaker Replacement - Front Lower and to Speaker Replacement - Front Upper in Entertainment.

  5. Remove the front door water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Front DoorΒ .

  7. Disconnect the regulator motor electrical connector.

  9. Disconnect the door latch assembly electrical connector.

  11. Disconnect the electrical connector from the SIR side impact sensor.
  12. Remove the hinge pillar trim. Refer to Trim Replacement - Hinge Pillar in Interior Trim.

  14. Disconnect the body harness inline electrical connectors by releasing the connector retaining tab located on the body side of the connectors.
  15. Remove the rubber grommet from the door access opening.

  17. Note the routing of the front door wiring harness and release the wire harness attachments from the door.
  18. Pass the front door wiring harness electrical connector through the access opening and remove the front door wiring harness from the door.
