Removal Procedure

2006 Chevrolet SSR AutomaticSECTION Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the left instrument panel (I/P) trim panel. Refer to Instrument Panel (I/P) Trim Panel Replacement - LeftΒ .
  2. Fig 1: Identifying HVAC Control Knobs

  3. Remove the HVAC control knobs.
  4. Remove the right I/P trim panel. Refer to Instrument Panel (I/P) Trim Panel Replacement - RightΒ .
  5. Remove the I/P compartment door. Refer to Storage Compartment Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P)Β .
  6. Remove the ashtray door. Refer to Ashtray ReplacementΒ .

  8. Remove the 3 upper retaining fasteners.
  9. Remove the 2 left retaining fasteners.

  11. Disconnect the PSIR module disable switch. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Instrument Panel (I/P) Module Disable Switch Replacement in SIR.
  12. Disconnect the I/P compartment light electrical connector (1).

  14. Disconnect the electrical connector to the bed cover (2).
  15. Disconnect the power point receptacle electrical connectors (1).
  16. If equipped, disconnect the cigar lighter in-line connector.
  17. Remove the right side knee bolster from the vehicle.
  18. If replacing the knee bolster, remove the following components and retain for transfer:
