Instrument Panel Lights/Gages
There are several lights/gages in the instrument panel (I/P) cluster that can be controlled by the body control module (BCM). The BCM will send a class 2 message to the I/P cluster when certain DTCs set in the BCM. Refer to the specific BCM DTC in order to determine if an indicator was turned ON by the BCM. When to See a Mechanic
Stop DIY work and contact a certified mechanic immediately if any of the following apply:
- • You smell fuel, burning insulation, or see smoke.
- • Brakes feel soft, pull hard to one side, or make grinding noises.
- • The engine overheats, stalls repeatedly, or misfires under load.
- • You are missing required tools, torque specs, or safe lifting equipment.
