2006 Chevrolet Cobalt SS, 4D Sedan, StandardSECTION Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and ConnectionΒ .
  2. Open the positive battery cable cover.
  3. Loosen the positive battery cable bolt.
  4. Remove the positive battery cable (1) from the battery.

  6. Remove the battery vent tube from the battery.

  8. Remove the battery retainer bolt (1).
  9. Remove the battery strap (2) and retainer (3).
  10. NOTE: Do not tip the battery more than 40 degrees during removal.
  11. Remove the battery (4).
