Preliminary Procedures

  1. Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  2. Remove the brake caliper mounting bracket. Refer to Brake Caliper Bracket Replacement - FrontΒ .
1 Retaining Screw
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .

Tighten:Β  14 N.m (124 lb in)

2 Brake Rotor
Tip:Β 
  • If removing the rotor to service the brake system, mark the relationship of the rotor to the wheel stud for proper installation.
  • Using the J 41013Β  , clean the contact area of the brake rotor and the wheel bearing if the rotor is to be reused. See Special ToolsΒ .
  • Using the J 42450-AΒ  , remove the rust and dirt from the contact area of the wheel bearing if replacing the rotor. See Special ToolsΒ .
  • Inspect the assembled lateral runout (LRO). Refer to Brake Rotor Assembled Lateral Runout CorrectionΒ .
