Removal Procedure

2006 Chevrolet Cobalt SS, 4D Sedan, StandardSECTION Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle on a hoist. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the rear wheels and tires. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.

  4. Relieve the park brake system tension at the equalizer assembly.
  5. Remove the rear caliper. Refer to Brake Caliper Replacement - RearΒ .
  6. Remove the rear rotor. Refer to Brake Rotor Replacement - RearΒ .

  8. Remove the rear wheel bearing/hub assembly. Refer to Wheel Bearing/Hub Replacement - Rear in Rear Suspension.
  9. Remove the disc brake backing plate.
