2006 Chevrolet Cobalt SS, 4D Sedan, StandardSECTION Removal Procedure

  1. Pull up on control boot until indicator bezel disengages from console.
  2. Remove the console. Refer to Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  3. Using a screwdriver, disconnect the control cable from the control assembly.
  4. Disconnect the electrical connector from the indicator bezel.
  5. Remove the control cable retaining clip.
  6. Press the tabs on the control cable and remove the cable from the control assembly.

  8. Disconnect the control cable from the transaxle range switch lever.
  9. Remove the control cable retaining clip.
  10. Press the 2 tabs on the control cable and remove the cable from the control cable bracket.

  12. Remove the control cable grommet from the dash panel.
  13. Remove the control cable from the vehicle.
