Installation Procedure

2006 Chevrolet Cobalt SS, 4D Sedan, StandardSECTION Installation Procedure

  1. Install the starter to the transmission.

    2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Install the starter mounting bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the starter-to-transmission bolts to 44 N.m (33 lb. ft.).

  3. Install the B+ cable and nut.

    Tighten:  Tighten the B+ cable-to-starter nut to 10 N.m (89 lb. in.).

  4. Install the S-terminal wire.
  5. Connect the negative battery cable to the battery. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure .

    Tighten:  Tighten the battery terminal bolt to 17 N.m (13 lb. ft.).

  6. Reprogram the radio stations.
