2006 Chevrolet Cobalt SS, 4D Sedan, StandardSECTION Installation Procedure

    IMPORTANT: A new roll connector is equipped with a yellow tab that is removed after the steering wheel is installed. This tab passes through the steering wheel.
  1. Route the SIR wiring harness and horn/cruise connector down steering column.
  2. Snap the SIR coil into position on the column.
  3. Connect the SIR coil and horn/cruise electrical connectors.

  4. Attach the wiring harness clips to the bracket below the column.
  5. Install the steering column covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement in Steering Wheel and Column.
  6. Install the steering wheel. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement in Steering Wheel and Column.
  7. Install the inflatable restraint steering wheel module. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module ReplacementΒ .
  8. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 3Β .
