2006 Chevrolet Chevy Express G3500, Van Cargo, 4.8 VSECTION Removal Procedure

NOTE: Use care when handling the coolant sensor. Damage to the coolant sensor will affect the operation of the fuel control system.

  1. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly ReplacementΒ .
  2. Remove the brace from the intake air heater-to-generator bracket.
  3. Drain the coolant to a level below the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System (Static Fill) or Draining and Filling Cooling System (Vac N Fill) .
  4. Disconnect the ECT sensor electrical connector.

  6. Remove the ECT sensor (1).
