2006 Chevrolet Chevy Express G3500, Van Cargo, 4.8 VSECTION Installation Procedure

NOTE: Use care when handling the coolant sensor. Damage to the coolant sensor will affect the operation of the fuel control system.

  1. If installing the old sensor, coat the threads with sealant GM P/N 12346004 (Canadian P/N 10953480), or equivalent.
  2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
  3. Install the ECT sensor (1).

    Tighten:Β  Tighten the sensor to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

  5. Connect the ECT sensor electrical connector.
  6. Fill the cooling system, if necessary. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System (Static Fill) or Draining and Filling Cooling System (Vac N Fill) .
  7. Install the brace to the intake air heater-to-generator bracket.
  8. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly ReplacementΒ .
