Removal Procedure

- Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 3 in SIR.
- Remove the inflator module. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Replacement in SIR.
- Disconnect the steering wheel control electrical connector.
- Remove the steering wheel nut.
- Install J 42578 and J 1859-A to the steering wheel. See Special Tools .
- Use J 42578 and J 1859-A in order to remove the steering wheel. See Special Tools .
- Remove J 42578 and J 1859-A from the steering wheel. See Special Tools .
- Remove the controls and the control harness from the steering wheel.
