2006 Chevrolet Chevy Express G2500, Van Cargo, 6.6 2SECTION Installation Procedure

  1. Lubricate the brake caliper mounting bracket bushings and the caliper slide pins with high temperature silicone brake lubricant.

  3. Install the caliper slide pin boots (4) to the disc brake caliper mounting bracket.
  4. Install the caliper slide pins (5) to the brake caliper mounting bracket (3).
  5. Install the disc brake pad retainers to the brake caliper mounting bracket.
  6. Install the disc brake pads to the brake caliper mounting bracket.
  7. Install the disc brake caliper to the brake caliper mounting bracket. Refer to Rear Brake Caliper ReplacementΒ .
  8. With the engine OFF, gradually apply the brake pedal approximately 2/3 of its travel distance.
  9. Slowly release the brake pedal.
  10. Wait 15 seconds, then repeat steps 7-8 until a firm brake pedal is obtained. This will properly seat the brake caliper pistons and brake pads.
  11. Lower the vehicle.
