Installation Procedure
- Install the power steering pump rear bracket to the power steering pump.
- Install the power steering pump rear bracket mounting nuts.
Tighten:Β Tighten the nuts to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).
- Install the power steering pump to the vehicle.
- Install the front power steering pump mounting bolts.
Tighten:Β Tighten the bolts to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).
- Install the rear power steering pump mounting bolt.
Tighten:Β Tighten the bolt to 41 N.m (30 lb ft).
- Uncap the power steering hoses.
- Raise the vehicle.
- Install the power brake booster inlet hose (2) to the power steering pump through the wheel well.
Tighten:Β Tighten the hose fitting to 33 N.m (24 lb ft).
- Install the power steering gear outlet hose or cooler hose to the power steering pump through the wheel well.
- Install the reservoir outlet hose to the power steering pump through the wheel well.
- Install the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
- Lower the vehicle.
- Connect the lower intermediate shaft to the power steering gear.
- Install the lower intermediate shaft to the power steering gear retaining bolt.
Tighten:Β Tighten the bolt to 61 N.m (45 lb ft).
- Install the power steering pump pulley. Refer to Power Steering Pump Pulley ReplacementΒ .
- Bleed the system. Refer to Power Steering System BleedingΒ .
- Remove the drain pan from under the vehicle.
