2006 Chevrolet Chevy Express G2500, Van Cargo, 6.6 2SECTION Removal Procedure

CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution .
  1. Remove the upper fan shroud. Refer to Engine Coolant Fan Upper Shroud Replacement (4.3L, 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L) or Engine Coolant Fan Upper Shroud Replacement (6.6L) .
  2. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .

  4. Remove the generator bolts (1).
  5. Remove the generator front support bracket attached to generator bracket and generator.
  6. Position the generator to access wiring.
  7. Remove the positive battery cable from the generator, perform the following:
    • Slide the boot down to access the terminal stud.
    • Remove the positive cable nut.
    • Remove the positive cable.
  8. Disconnect the generator electrical connector.
  9. Remove the generator (2).
