- Open the liftgate.
- Remove the liftgate trim panel. Refer to Liftgate Trim Panel Replacement .
- Using a pick type tool, depress the liftgate lock cylinder release button on the bottom side of the liftgate outside handle.
- Remove the liftgate lock cylinder from the outside handle and disconnect the lock cylinder rod from the cylinder lever.
