2006 Chevrolet Chevy Express G2500, Van Cargo, 6.6 2SECTION Assembly Procedure

    IMPORTANT: Note the orientation of the variable assist steering actuator discharge fitting.
  1. Lubricate and install the new O-ring seal with power steering fluid.
  2. NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the variable assist steering actuator (1) to the pump assembly.

    Tighten:Β  Tighten the actuator to 62 N.m (46 lb ft).

  5. Install the negative battery cable.
  6. IMPORTANT: If a new variable assist steering actuator (1) is being installed, position the electrical connector before installing the retaining ring (2).
  7. Install the electrical connector to the variable assist steering actuator (1).
  8. Install the retaining ring (2) to the variable assist steering actuator (1).
