Installation Procedure

2006 Chevrolet Chevy Express G2500, Van Cargo, 6.6 2SECTION Installation Procedure

  1. Install the I/P assembly to the vehicle.
  2. Install the harness hold down retainers to the I/P assembly.
  3. Install the I/P assembly retaining bolts (3) and nuts (4).

    Ensure the wire harness is routed to all of the openings.

  4. Install the harness to the I/P. Refer to INSTRUMENT PANEL ELECTRICAL CENTER OR JUNCTION BLOCK REPLACEMENT - LEFT or INSTRUMENT PANEL ELECTRICAL CENTER OR JUNCTION BLOCK REPLACEMENT - RIGHT .
  5. Install both front window air duct to the I/P assembly.
  6. Install the I/P cluster assembly. Refer to Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) Replacement   . 
  7. Install the park brake release lever to the I/P. Refer to PARK BRAKE RELEASE HANDLE ASSEMBLY .
  8. Install the data link connector to the I/P. Refer to DATA LINK CONNECTOR REPLACEMENT .
  9. Install the remote control door lock receiver module, if equipped. Refer to REMOTE CONTROL DOOR LOCK RECEIVER REPLACEMENT .
  10. Install the CIM, if equipped. Refer to COMMUNICATION INTERFACE MODULE REPLACEMENT .
  11. Install the steering column. Refer to STEERING COLUMN REPLACEMENT .
  12. Install the left air louver housing. Refer to DEFLECTOR REPLACEMENT - INSTRUMENT PANEL AIR - LEFT .
  13. Install the accessory switch housing. Refer to Accessory Switch Replacement   . 
  14. Install the HVAC control. Refer to HVAC CONTROL MODULE REPLACEMENT for Automatic or HVAC CONTROL MODULE REPLACEMENT for Manual.
  15. Install the radio. Refer to RADIO REPLACEMENT (NON-DIGITAL RADIO) or RADIO REPLACEMENT (DIGITAL RADIO) .
  16. Install the passenger side airbag module. Refer to REMOVAL & INSTALLATION (PASSENGER-SIDE) .
  17. Install the lower trim panel. Refer to Instrument Panel (I/P) Trim Panel Replacement - Lower   . 
  18. Install the driver side knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement   . 
  19. Install the center console, if equipped. Refer to Console Replacement (Except Pro)   or  Console Replacement (Pro)   . 
  20. Install the I/P trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Upper   . 
  21. Connect the negative battery cable.
