2006 Chevrolet Chevy Express G2500, Van Cargo, 6.6 2SECTION Installation Procedure

  1. Install the power steering pump rear bracket to the pump.
  2. Install the nuts retaining the bracket to the power steering pump.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the nuts to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

  4. Install the power steering pressure hose (2) to the power steering pump.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the nut to 28 N.m (20 lb ft).

  6. Install the power steering pump retaining bolts.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the power steering retaining bolts and nut to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

  8. Install the power steering rear mounting bracket nut to the engine stud.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the power steering rear bracket nut to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

  10. Install the power steering return hoses and retaining clamps (3,5) to the power steering pump.

  11. Reposition the accessory mounting bracket and install the bolts and nut.
    • Tighten

    Tighten the accessory mounting bracket bolts to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

    • Tighten the accessory mounting bracket nut to 41 N.m (30 lb ft).
  12. Install the power steering pulley. Refer to Power Steering Pulley Replacement .
  13. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Bleeding the Power Steering System .
