- Install the wiper motor onto the wiper transmission assembly with the 2 bolts.NOTE: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the 2 bolts to 8 N.m (71 lb in).
- Install the drive link onto the wiper motor crank arm with the J 39529.
- Install the wiper transmission assembly on the vehicle with the 2 bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the 2 bolts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
- Connect the electrical connector to the wiper motor.
- Install the reinforcement panel with the 4 bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the 4 bolts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
- Operate the wipers and inspect for proper operation.
- Install the air inlet grille panel. Refer to AIR INLET GRILLE PANEL REPLACEMENT in Body Front End.
- Install the wiper arms. Refer to WIPER ARM REPLACEMENT .
