Fuel Pump Operation Inspection

2006 Chevrolet Chevy Express G2500, Van Cargo, 6.6 2SECTION Fuel Pump Operation Inspection

  1. Ground the following PCM terminals using a jumper wire.
    • With immobilizer system: 1AR
    • Without immobilizer system: 1AQ
  2. Remove the fuel-filler cap.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position to start the fuel pump.
  4. Verify that operation sound is heard from the fuel pump when the ignition switch is turned to the ON position.

    • If the operation sound cannot be verified, measure the voltage at fuel pump wiring harness-side connector terminal A.
      • If as specified, inspect the following:
        • Fuel pump continuity
      • If not within the specification, inspect the following:
        • Fuel pump relay
        • Wiring harnesses and connectors between main relay, fuel pump relay and fuel pump
