Circuit/System Verification
- Ignition ON, observe the rear window defogger switch indicator while turning the rear window defogger switch ON and OFF. The indicator should turn ON and OFF as the switch is activated.
- If the rear window defogger switch indicator does not illuminate, replace the radio/HVAC control panel. Refer to Radio Control Assembly Replacement (with Navigation Display) or Radio Control Assembly Replacement (without Navigation Display) .
- With a scan tool, observe the rear defrost state parameter while turning the rear window defogger switch ON and OFF. The reading should change between ON and OFF.
- If the reading changes as the switch is activated, refer to Rear Window Defogger MalfunctionΒ .
If the reading does not change as the switch is activated, replace the radio/HVAC control panel. Refer to Radio Control Assembly Replacement (with Navigation Display) or Radio Control Assembly Replacement (without Navigation Display) .
- If the reading changes as the switch is activated, refer to Rear Window Defogger MalfunctionΒ .
