Removal Procedure

2006 Chevrolet Chevy Express G2500, Van Cargo, 6.6 2SECTION Removal Procedure
CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Cautions and Notices.
  1. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement for the 6.6L (LLY) engine.
  2. Remove the upper radiator fan shroud. Refer to Fan Shroud Replacement - Upper .
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect ProcedureΒ .
  4. Disconnect the generator electrical connector (1).
  5. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement for the 6.6L (LLY) engine.

  7. Remove the positive battery cable from the generator, perform the following:
    1. Slide the boot (3) down to access the terminal stud.
    2. Remove the positive cable nut (2).
    3. Remove the positive cable.

  9. Remove the generator bolts (1).
  10. Remove the generator (2).
