  1. Install the lower intermediate shaft to the vehicle.
  2. Connect the lower intermediate shaft to the intermediate shaft bearing.
    3. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the lower intermediate shaft to the intermediate shaft bearing retaining bolt.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 30 N.m (22 lb ft).

  4. Align the marks made at removal and Install the lower intermediate shaft to the power steering gear.
  5. Install the lower intermediate shaft to the power steering gear retaining bolt.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 61 N.m (45 lb ft).

  6. Lower the vehicle.

  7. Remove the J 42640  from the steering column lower access hole.
