  1. Relieve the coolant system pressure.
  2. CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4. NOTE: Use care when handling the coolant sensor. Damage to the coolant sensor will affect the operation of the fuel control system.
  5. Disconnect the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor connector.
  6. Carefully remove the ECT sensor from the cylinder head underneath the electronic ignition (EI) system ignition coil.
