  1. Relieve the coolant system pressure.
  2. CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4. Drain the coolant below the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor level.
  5. Disconnect the ECT sensor connector.
  6. NOTE: Use care when handling the coolant sensor. Damage to the coolant sensor will affect the operation of the fuel control system.
  7. Remove the ECT sensor.
