Installation Procedure

  1. Install the rear timing belt cover.
  2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the rear timing belt cover bolts.

    Tighten:Β  Tighten the rear timing belt cover bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  5. Install the timing belt idler pulley.
  6. Install the timing belt idler pulley bolt.

    Tighten:Β  Tighten the timing belt idler pulley bolt to 40 N.m (30 lb ft).

  8. Install the timing belt automatic tensioner.
  9. Install the timing belt automatic tensioner bolts.

    Tighten:Β  Tighten the timing belt automatic tensioner bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  10. Install the crankshaft gear.
  11. IMPORTANT: Take extreme care to prevent any scratches, nicks or damage to the camshafts.
  12. Install the camshaft gears. Refer to Camshaft Gear ReplacementΒ .
  13. Install the timing belt. Refer to Timing Belt ReplacementΒ .
