2005 Chevrolet Aveo L4-1.6L VIN 6SECTION Transmitter Programming (Tech 2)
TRANSMITTER PROGRAMMING (TECH 2)
IMPORTANT: All transmitters that are to be recognized by the remote control door lock receiver (RCDLR) must be programmed in a single programming sequence. If the system is placed in program mode it will erase all previously programmed transmitters upon the receipt of the programming signal from the first transmitter. Up to five transmitters can be programmed. Do not operate or program the transmitters in the vicinity of other vehicles that are in the keyless entry program mode. This prevents the programming of the transmitters to the incorrect vehicle.
Transmitter Programming Procedure
IMPORTANT: Turn the ignition to ON before installing in the scan tool. Failure to connect in this procedure may cause communication errors and the programming procedure will not complete. Any keys that are not programmed at this time will no longer function.
1. Turn ON the ignition with the engine OFF.
2. Install the scan tool.
3. Select PROGRAMMING KEY FOBS from the BODY menu.
4. Follow the scan tool instructions with each key until all keys are programmed.
5. Turn the ignition to the LOCK position, disconnect the TECH 2 and test all the keys.
6. If any key does not function, refer to Keyless Entry Does Not Program.
For immobilizer programming, refer to Programming Additional Keys in Theft Deterrent System.
