Removal Procedure

- Disable the SIR system. Refer to DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM in Air Bag Restraint Systems.
- Remove the steering column from the vehicle. Refer to STEERING COLUMN REPLACEMENT .
- Inspect the steering column for accident damage. Refer to STEERING WHEEL & STEERING COLUMN .
- Remove the steering column tilt head. Refer to STEERING COLUMN TILT HEAD HOUSING REPLACEMENT .
- Remove the jacket.
