CAUTION:
When a hood hold open device is being removed or installed, provide alternate support to avoid the possibility of damage to the vehicle or personal injury.
- Open and support the liftgate window.NOTE: Refer to LIFTGATE ASSIST ROD NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
- Remove the retainer from the hinge pin.
The hinge pin is located at the upper end of the liftgate window strut.
Discard the retainer.
- Remove the hinge pin from the upper end of the liftgate window strut.
Discard the hinge pin.
- Lift up the retainer clips on the liftgate window struts using a small flat- bladed tool.
- Remove the lower end of the liftgate window struts from the ball joint.
- Remove the liftgate window struts from the liftgate window.
