2003 Chevrolet TrailBlazer 4.2 S, 4WDSECTION Installation Procedure

  1. Ensure the new thermostat housing seal (1) is properly seated into the groove of the thermostat housing.

  2. Position the new thermostat housing/thermostat to the cylinder head.
    CAUTION: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
  3. Install the thermostat housing bolts.

    TightenΒ 

    Tighten the thermostat housing bolts to 9 N.m (80 in lbs).

  4. Position the J 38185Β  to the clamps in order to connect the outlet radiator hose and outlet heater hose to the thermostat housing.

  6. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling SystemΒ .
