- Install the steering gear to the frame and install the retaining bolts. Tighten the bolts to 150 N.m (110 ft lbs)
- Install the pitman arm. Refer to PITMAN ARM REPLACEMENT (RWD) or PITMAN ARM REPLACEMENT (4WD) .
- Install the engine protection shield, if equipped.
- Remove the safety stands.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Install the intermediate shaft to the steering gear. Refer to INTERMEDIATE STEERING SHAFT REPLACEMENT - LOWER .
- Remove the caps or plugs from the steering gear and hoses.
- Install the hoses to the steering gear. Tighten the hoses fitting to 28 N.m (20 ft lbs).
- Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Bleeding Power Steering SystemΒ .
