Electronic Column Lock Module - Disassemble - Off Vehicle (Column Shift)

2003 Chevrolet TrailBlazer 4.2 S, 4WDSECTION Electronic Column Lock Module - Disassemble - Off Vehicle (Column Shift)

Tools Required:Β J 41396Β  Park Lock Cable Pliers

  1. Remove the steering column tilt head housing. Refer to Steering Column Tilt Head Housing - Disassemble - Off Vehicle (Column Shift)Β  or Steering Column Tilt Head Housing - Disassemble - Off Vehicle (Floor Shift)Β  .
  2. Disconnect the park lock cable assembly (1). The lock cylinder should be in the OFF-LOCK position.

  3. Insert a small screwdriver into the slot on the electronic lock module assembly and push against the locking tab to remove the park lock cable assembly (1).
  4. Remove the steering column lock cylinder set only. Refer to Steering Column Lock Cylinder Set - Disassemble - Off Vehicle (Column Shift)Β  or Steering Column Lock Cylinder Set - Disassemble - Off Vehicle (Floor Shift)Β  .
  5. Remove the key alarm connector (1) from the electronic lock module assembly (2).
  6. Remove the 2 tapping screws from the ignition and key alarm switch assembly (3).
  7. Remove the ignition and key alarm switch assembly (3) from the electronic lock module assembly (2).
  8. Let the ignition and key alarm switch assembly (3) hang freely.

  9. Remove the 3 pan head tapping screws (2) from the electronic lock module assembly (1).
  10. Remove the electronic lock module assembly (1).
