2003 Chevrolet TrailBlazer 4.2 S, 4WDSECTION Installation Procedure

  1. Install the power steering pressure hose to the vehicle.
  2. Install the power steering pressure hose (2) to the clamps (1) on the power steering gear.
  3. Install the power steering pressure hose to the power steering pump.

    Tighten:Β 

    Tighten the fitting to 27 N.m (20 ft lbs)Β 

  4. Install the power steering pressure hose to the power steering gear.

    Tighten:Β 

    Tighten the pressure hose fitting to 27 N.m (20 ft lbs)Β 

  5. Install the tire and wheel assembly.
  6. Remove the drain pan from under the vehicle.
  7. Lower the vehicle.
  8. Install the accessory drive belt. Refer to SPECIFICATIONS & DRIVE BELT ROUTING .
  9. Fill the power steering system with power steering fluid. Refer to Checking and Adding Power Steering FluidΒ .
  10. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Bleeding the Power Steering SystemΒ .
  11. Inspect the power steering system for leaks. Refer to Power Steering Fluid LeaksΒ .
