- Make sure transaxle manual shaft is in Neutral position. Align flats on transaxle shift shaft with flats on transaxle range switch and install switch. Loosely install transaxle range switch bolts.
- Insert Transaxle Range Switch Alignment Tool (J44810) as shown and rotate switch until tool drops into position. See Figure . Transaxle range switch is aligned when pin on tool drops into hole on transaxle range switch. Tighten transaxle range switch bolts to specification. Remove alignment tool.
- Install transaxle range switch lever and nut then tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONSΒ . Connect transaxle range switch harness connectors. Install control cable assembly to transaxle range switch lever and verify proper operation.
- Position battery tray bracket and tighten screws to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONSΒ . Install battery cooling box. See BATTERY COOLING BOXΒ .
- Insert battery and tighten battery hold-down screw to specification. Connect positive battery cable to battery and tighten to specification. Connect negative battery cable to battery and tighten to specification. Install battery cooling box cover and tighten screws to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONSΒ .
- Reprogram radio stations. Adjust transaxle range switch. See TRANSAXLE RANGE SWITCHΒ under ADJUSTMENTS. After adjusting switch, verify engine starts only in Park or Neutral position. If engine starts in any other position, readjust switch.
