It is not necessary to check transmission fluid. A transmission fluid leak is the only reason to check transmission fluid level. Transmission fluid should not be changed under normal operating conditions. Under continuous extreme operating conditions (trailer towing, heavy city traffic with ambient temperature more than 90Β°F (32Β°C) or delivery service), replace fluid and filter every 50,000 miles.

When to See a Mechanic
