- Remove the push-in retainers from the Insulator Panel (IP) insulator to instrument panel. Remove the press-on retainers from the IP insulator to dash mat. Unsnap the IP courtesy lamp from the IP insulator. Remove the IP insulator from the instrument panel.
- Disconnect the accelerator cable from the accelerator pedal. Remove the fasteners holding the accelerator pedal to the bulk head. See Fig 1 . Remove the accelerator pedal. To install, reverse removal procedures. Tighten accelerator bolts and studs to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONSΒ .
- Check for complete throttle opening and closing positions by operating the accelerator pedal. Also inspect the carpet fit under the accelerator pedal. Reinstall the left instrument panel sound insulator.
