2003 Chevrolet TrailBlazer 4.2 S, 4WDSECTION Cruise Control Diagnostic System Check

  1. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). If scan tool powers up, go to next step. If scan tool does not power up, see TEST A: SCAN TOOL DOES NOT POWER UP under SYSTEM TESTS in BODY CONTROL MODULES - AURORA article.
  2. Turn on the ignition, with the engine off. Attempt to establish communication with the BCM and PCM. If the scan tool communicates with the control modules go to next step. If scan tool does not communicate with control modules, see TEST B: SCAN TOOL DOES NOT COMMUNICATE WITH CLASS 2 DEVICE under SYSTEM TESTS in BODY CONTROL MODULES - AURORA article.
  3. Select the BCM and PCM display DTCs function on the scan tool. If the scan tool displays any DTCs, go to next step. If scan tool does not display any DTCs, see SYSTEM TESTSΒ .
  4. If the scan tool displays any DTCs that begin with a "U", see TEST B: SCAN TOOL DOES NOT COMMUNICATE WITH CLASS 2 DEVICE under SYSTEM TESTS in BODY CONTROL MODULES - AURORA article. If no DTCs beginning with a "U" are displayed, go to next step.
  5. If the scan tool displays DTC B1000, B1004, B1007 or B1009, see DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS in BODY CONTROL MODULES - AURORA article. If the scan tool does not display DTC B1000, B1004, B1007 or B1009, go to next step.
  6. If the scan tool displays DTC B1327, see GENERATORS & REGULATORS article in STARTING & CHARGING SYSTEMS. If the scan tool does not display DTC B1327, go to next step.
  7. If the scan tool displays any DTCs that begin with a "C", See ANTI-LOCK/TCS - BOSCH 5.3 - C, G, H & K BODIES article in BRAKES. If the scan tool does not display any DTCs that begin with a "C", go to next step.
  8. If the scan tool displays the PCM DTCs P0574, P1554, P1560, P1564, P1566, P1567, P1570 or P1585, see SELF-DIAGNOSTICS - 3.5L or SELF-DIAGNOSTICS - 4.0L article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. If DTCs P0574, P1554, P1560, P1564, P1566, P1567, P1570 or P1585 are not displayed, go to next step.
  9. If the scan tool displays any DTCs which begin with a "P", see SELF-DIAGNOSTICS - 3.5L or SELF-DIAGNOSTICS - 4.0L article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. If the scan tool does not display any DTCs which begin with a "P", see SYSTEM TESTSΒ .
