Crankshaft Position Sensor
The Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor signal indicates the crankshaft speed and position. CKP sensor is located on top left rear of engine, near bellhousing. See Fig 1 . The CKP sensor is connected directly to the PCM and consists of a 12-volt reference circuit, low reference circuit and CKP sensor signal circuit. When to See a Mechanic
Stop DIY work and contact a certified mechanic immediately if any of the following apply:

- • Brakes feel soft, pull hard to one side, or make grinding noises.
- • The engine overheats, stalls repeatedly, or misfires under load.
- • You are missing required tools, torque specs, or safe lifting equipment.
