Shift Control Cable: Installation

2003 Chevrolet TrailBlazer 4.2 S, 4WDSECTION Installation

  1. Install the cable through the cowl and carpet.
  2. Install the cable grommet and the bolts in the cowl. Tighten the grommet bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONSΒ  .
  3. Install the cable (4) at the shift control assembly (3). See Figure .
  4. Install shift control cable onto floor shift control. See Figure .
  5. Install the cable at the transaxle cable brackets (1). See Figure .
  6. Install the cable at the transaxle selector lever (2). See Figure .
  7. Adjust the cable.
  8. Install the center console. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION in appropriate SHIFT INTERLOCK SYSTEMS article.
