- Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
- Remove the instrument panel (I/P) storage compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel Storage Compartment Replacement .
- Disconnect the brake transaxle shift interlock (BTSI) solenoid harness connector.
- Using a screwdriver, disconnect the plastic retainers at solenoid base and at the park brake lever.
- Remove the solenoid from the shifter assembly.
