DTC B0688: Security Indicator Circuit Fault: Description

Security indicator is a hard wired light to instrument panel cluster (IPC) and controlled by Passlock(tm) module. Security indicator light receives ignition voltage form the GAUGES fuse. When DTC B0688 sets, security indicator will illuminate. Security indicator may be illuminated when ignition switch is in OFF position, if security indicator control circuit is shorted to battery voltage. Current DTCs will clear after an ignition cycle occurs without the fault recurring. Passlock(tm) module history DTCs clear after 100 ignition cycles with no current codes active or using a scan tool.
