2003 Chevrolet TrailBlazer 4.2 S, 4WDSECTION Installation Procedure

  1. Position the generator and install the top bolts finger tight.
  2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
  3. Install the bottom bolts and tighten all the generator bolts.

    Tighten:Β  Tighten the generator-to-engine block bolts to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).

  4. Connect the electrical connections.

    Tighten:Β  Tighten the B+ cable-to-generator nut to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

  5. IMPORTANT: Use the required accessory drive belt removal tool number J 44811Β  . See Special ToolsΒ .
  6. Install the accessory drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  7. Install the throttle body air duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Inlet Duct Replacement .
  8. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (2.2L (L61) and 3.5L (L66))Β  or Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (2.4L (LAT))Β .

    Tighten:Β  Tighten the battery terminal bolt to 17 N.m (13 lb ft).

  9. Reprogram the radio stations.
